CPR Training

The gym floor at Hambrick was covered with students as they learned and demonstrated proper CPR techniques.

During the week of Sept. 26-29, 2014 the students in the physical education classes at Hambrick Middle School participated in a CPR training unit.  All students (approx. 430) enrolled in the classes were given instructions in CPR for adults and children.  They also demonstrated how to help someone who was choking.

This unit was taught because of HB 897 which states that all students in the state of Texas will get CPR training in grades 7-12. The training used was the Hands only CPR from the American Heart Association.  The classes were taught by Coaches Angel Giddens, Claude Mims, Michael Haggerty and Janie Rodriguez.
