Jasmine Luna, Cristal Ortiz, Maria Salazar, Samantha Sanchez, Krystal Doakes, Liliana Campo, A’lelia Ferguson, Victoriana Romo, Denise Rodriguez and Elijah Hernandez (pictured l to r) are members of Hambrick Middle School’s Girls Talk! organization who shared an afternoon with the residents of Pilgrim Place to celebrate the new year.

Girls Talk! is an organization at Hambrick Middle School that focuses on topics young girls are eager to learn about as well as provide opportunities for promoting positive interactions within our community.  We focus on topics such as respect, community service, hygiene, professional behavior and more.

The president of Girls Talk! is 8th grader Samantha Sanchez.  She leads the meetings and organizes activities that the girls would like to participate in during the year. Girls Talk! visited Pilgrim Place to spend time with the residents for New Years. The ladies had a small gathering with the residents of Pilgrim Place and played Bingo.  Light refreshments were also enjoyed to celebrate the New Year. Everyone had a blast!  The residents invited the members of Girls Talk! to come back during the school year for another visit. Stephanie Clarke-Brooks, Lacey Chapron and Emily Janssen, the faculty sponsors of Girls Talk!, stated, “We plan on visiting again in May.”
