Region Choir

The Hambrick Choir took 8 students to the Region 33 Choir Auditions at Davis High School on Saturday December 1. Region Choir is like an Honor Choir but not only for our district, but the region which spans across 6 other school districts including Crosby ISD, Galena Park ISD, Humble ISD, New Caney ISD, Sheldon ISD and Spring ISD. Students must learn 3 choir pieces and then perform a cut or section of each song in a blind audition. Students who make the Region Choir have to be placed in the top of their audition room. This year students had to be in the top 12 of their room to make it.

Choir Director Hannah Swenson was pleased to announce that Aracely Gonzalez, an 8th grade student at Hambrick was selected to be a part of the Region Choir this year.  She placed 6th in her audition room.  Aracely will now learn more pieces and perform them with all the students placed in the choir on January 19 at Dekaney High School.

Swenson shared that “I am proud of all the students who auditioned…It takes a lot of courage to sing by yourself and be vulnerable like they were.”  Congratulation to Aracely and all of the students who auditioned including Stacey Arroyo, Kenia Banda, Elizabeth Casanova, Jezreel Coronado, Karolynn Figueroa, Mercedes Luna, Lucy Vince.
