We are proud to share the outstanding accomplishments of the Hambrick Middle School Band at this year’s UIL Concert and Sight-Reading Evaluation held at Dekaney High School on March 24-25, 2026.
Our Honors Band earned Superior ratings in both Concert and Sight-Reading, achieving an overall Sweepstakes Award, the highest distinction a band can receive at UIL. This honor reflects exceptional dedication, preparation, and musical excellence.
Additionally, our Hambrick Symphonic Band delivered an impressive performance, earning an Excellent rating in Concert and a Superior rating in Sight-Reading. These results highlight the students’ hard work, focus, and commitment to growth.
Sight-reading, one of the most challenging components of the evaluation, requires students to perform a brand-new piece of music with only a few minutes to prepare. This process demands a high level of skill, teamwork, and confidence, which are qualities our students demonstrated with great success.
We are incredibly proud of all of our band students for representing Hambrick with excellence and dedication.
